Lori Olejnik, 3rd Grade

Hello, and welcome to another great year at Saint Susanna. My name is Lori Olejnik, and I will be teaching 3rd grade this year. This will begin my 6th year at Saint Susanna School, and I am looking forward to meeting my new minions!

I am originally from Merrillville, Indiana which is about 45 minutes south of Chicago. (Go White Sox!!! Da Bears!!!) I currently live in Plainfield, Indiana with my wonderful husband Tony and four children. Dillon will turn 17 this month and will be a junior at Cardinal Ritter, Chloe is 14 and will be a freshman at Cardinal Ritter, Shannon is 13 and starting 7th grade at Plainfield Middle School, and Kara just turned 8 and will be a 2nd grader at St. Susanna.

I graduated from Purdue University in 1994 with a degree in Elementary Education. I started my career on the south side of Indianapolis and taught 4th and 5th grade in Perry Township. My husband and I then moved to Evansville, Indiana for 3 years and I taught 4th and 5th grade there also. We then moved back to Avon and I taught fifth grade for 8 years in Avon! I taught “Higher Ability” at Avon for 3 years which is a program that students need to meet certain criteria to be accepted. Altogether this year will be my 18th year of teaching children.

In my free time I love to watch my children play and participate in their various sports and activities. I also coach basketball and softball and I am looking forward to possibly bringing another CYO City Championship to Saint Susanna! GO SPARTANS!!!!
