Roger Dutcher, Band/K-5 Music

Roger is pleased to be starting his seveth year here at St. Susanna. Roger grew up in Huntington, Indiana where he knew in the 8th grade he wanted to teach music and band as an occupation. Roger graduated from Huntington University with a degree in K-12 music education and has since taught at Decatur Township Schools, Indianapolis Public Schools and currently is at St. Susanna School teaching K-5 Music and 5-8 Band. Roger also works at St. Christopher School where he teaches K-6 music, 5-6 band, and 4-6 Choir. Roger also serves as the Assistant Band Director with the Cardinal Ritter Marching Raiders.
When not spending time working at one of his three schools Roger can be found at Lakeview church where he is the director of the Teen Bible Quiz Ministry and teaches a class on Religions of the World. Roger is also very involved in several community theaters around Indianapolis. He has performed in over a total of 170 musicals and plays since High School. Roger is a current Encore Association Judge for musicals. Roger is a member of the Hendricks Symphonic Society and is currently singing in the Hendricks Symphonic Choir and has played with the Hendricks Symphony Orchestra.
Roger’s favorite candy is Gobstoppers and his favorite restaurant is Grindstone Charley’s. Roger has been married to his wife Julie for 19 years. They currently have no children but their two dogs and three cats have a tendency to keep them busy.
