Our focus for Leader in Me this week is Habit #2: “Begin with the End in Mind”. Students are asked to set goals and budget their time to make sure they achieve what they set out to do. We recognize the Fruit of the Holy Spirit “Goodness” as relates to this habit. Today, I talked about a “good student” being one who does what he/she is supposed to do – completes homework, studies for tests, pays attention in class, etc. To be good at something, one must be dedicated and work hard. Everyone is good at something; that’s the gift God gave you. How can you begin with the end in mind and let your light shine?
School Pictures will be taken this week.
–Preschool and PreK students will have pictures taken on September 6.
–Kindergarten through 8th grade will have pictures taken on September 7.
September 7 is a DRESS UP day for students. Please no jeans, athletic shorts, T-shirts, tank tops or spaghetti straps. Flat shoes or sandals are fine, but please wear athletic shoes if it’s your gym day. Clothes should not be tight-fitting.
Order forms were sent home last week, so please look for them in backpacks! We do have a few more in the receptionist office, if yours has been misplaced.
Through some generous donations, we are able to host a high-energy, Catholic faith-based program called “Hard as Nails Ministry” onWednesday, September 27. The goal of this event is stressing the importance of each individual in God’s world, acknowledging that God gave each person gifts to share. The program is called “You are Amazing!” All of our children in kindergarten through 8th grade will be divided into smaller grade-level groups to experience our faith either through a book reading for primary children or an interactive program for older kids. We invite you all to a family bonding event that evening – Wednesday, September 27 – at 6:30pm. Click here for a preview.
Your should have received an envelope containing 5 Jamboree Raffle tickets, which was sent home with the oldest child in your family earlier this week. DO NOT THROW THEM AWAY! They are $20 each and enter the purchaser in a drawing for a variety of cash prizes including the top prize of $4,000! While you may buy these tickets yourself, we ask that you sell these tickets to friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, etc. They need to complete the bottom portion of the ticket, which needs to be submitted back to school with payment. Unsold tickets also need to be returned to school. Invite everyone to attend the Jamboree and Chili Cook-off on September 30, when we will Draw Down to the top winner! If you need more than the 5 tickets we sent home, I have them in the office. Please let me know how many you’d like, and I will deliver them to you in carpool!
