Dear Parents,

We have had several confirmed cases of Influenza reported to us Friday and over the weekend.  We clean and sanitize desks every evening, but it is important for children to take some added precautions to avoid getting/spreading illnesses.  Some pediatricians recommend the following:

  • Wash hands often – before eating, after sneezing, coughing, blowing nose, using restroom.
  • Do not drink/eat after another person.
  • Cough/sneeze into crook of arm instead of into hands.
  • Wash hands after playing with toys/games at indoor recess or playing with equipment outside.
  • Get regular exercise.
  • Eat healthy food.
  • Get plenty of sleep.

If your child is sick – running a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea – please keep him/her home until symptoms are gone for 24 hours.  Email teachers, and they will work with your child to get work made up.
