Dear Parents,

Our students in Kindergarten through 8th grades were able to experience a program called “You’re Amazing!” by Hard as Nails ministry.  While kids had fun with the music, dancing, and contests, the messages were ones that everyone needs to hear:

1) You are amazing because God made you that way.

2) If you truly believe you are an amazing child of God, you won’t put others down to make

yourself look/feel better.  Amazing people build each other up!

3) Everyone has struggles or challenges, and we need to support one another through those.

Keep reinforcing these messages at home, and we’ll do the same at school!

On Friday at our annual pet blessing, Fr. Glenn blessed, dogs, cats, fish,… even a tortoise!  The kids and animals alike enjoyed the morning!  Thanks to everyone who participated.

Our 2nd annual Jamboree and Chili Cook-off was a success!  Everyone had a fun night – from those who participated in the Cornhole games to the kids who won tasty treats in the cakewalk.

  • Mr. Dutcher retains his “Hottest Chili” crown for the 6th straight year, beating the closest competition by a mere 2 votes!  (Was this his last year as champion???)
  • Congratulations to our top raffle winners, including Mrs. Guess (wife of our computer teacher) who owned the last-drawn ticket and won $4,000!
  • A huge “Thank You” to Mr. Craig Overton, Mrs. Gaytanna McGuire, and Mrs. Toni Ellis, who served as co-chairs for the event!  You are all ROCK STARS!!
  • Mrs. Maria Morgan set up a beautiful, fall-inspired concession stand, and Mrs. Lisa Arickx organized the teacher wish lists, which will help provide items for our amazing teachers.
  • Mrs. Elizabeth Christian kept the night running smoothly, and many other volunteers served in many other roles. We couldn’t do it without you!
  • A giant “THANK YOU” to everyone who attended, bought or sold tickets, and volunteered.  Your support of Catholic education at St. Susanna School is much appreciated by the entire staff!  We love our St. Susanna families!  You are all AMAZING!!

The Plainfield Optimist Club honors one boy and one girl each year from our middle school for their leadership, helpfulness, and positive attitude, as voted by staff members.  Congratulations to this year’s winners, 6thgraders Mitch Chlupacek and Jessica Kaur!  They will be recognized at an awards dinner in November.

Spartan Spirit Awards are given by staff members to students who go above and beyond expectations in behavior, attitude and/or leadership.  Congratulations to recipients for the week of September 25:  Caroline Saupp, Hughie Corrigan, Tommy Mescher, Paul Morgan, Abran Means, Amaya Journey-Gilbert, and Landon Drennan.  Keep letting your lights shine!
