Choir, Handbells, & Band

Choir is open to grades 3 to 8. The choir sings at 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday alternating with the adult choir. They sing on Christmas Eve Mass, Easter Sunday, First Communion and other places by request. Our choir has sung at radio stations for the Christmas Concert Series and other programs. They also participate at the Christmas concert sponsored by the Plainfield Christian Federation of Churches held annually at the Plainfield HS, and Christmas concert series at Chick-Fil-A. We have joined the adult choir in singing for the Confirmation Mass at the SS. Peter and Paul cathedral in Indianapolis. The Office of Worship and Liturgical Music of the archdiocese has invited us to sing at the special Mass for the opening of the “Holy Year of Mercy” at the cathedral in Indianapolis.

The bell choir is made up of 8 students with age ranging 10 to 14 (Gr. 4 to 8). The bell choir participates in the Christmas Concert held annually at the PHS, Christmas Eve Mass, Easter Sunday, the Living Stations of the Cross, First Communion Mass, the 8th grade graduation and other school programs.

The Saint Susanna band teaches 5-8 grade students the art of performing on a musical instrument.  The band performs 6 concerts a year and participates in the CYO Music Contest on an annual basis.

CYO Music Competition is open to students from 4th to 8th grade for the following instruments: Vocal, Piano, and any Solo Instrument. It could also be a duet, trio or a quartet.  CYO Music Competition is held the 2nd weekend of February at Bishop Chatard High School in Indianapolis.
