I am Kathy Authenreith, the St. Susanna “Wiberry Wady”, as one preschooler called me. I have been at St. Susanna for 20 years. In addition to the library, I provide administrative support as needed.
Thanks to the support of the administration and the generosity of many parents, the St. Susanna Library is a thriving, living space – literally: we have one chinchilla, some tropical fish, and two red-eared slider turtles. Moe the chinchilla is quite the celebrity at St. Sue. We have over 18,000 books, many with ebook capabilities. Last year, our collective student body read over 90 millions words! We also had 31 Reading Millionaires, meaning the student has individually read over one million words, with a few over 4 million! Reading is a vital practice at St. Susanna!
I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and I have also lived in Columbus, OH and Knoxville, TN. I graduated from Butler University after attending night school for several years. I have worked in manufacturing, customer service, medicine, and now education. We have lived in Plainfield for over 25 years.
We have two adult sons and my husband, Dave, and I have been married for 34 years. It goes without saying, but I love to read! Reading literally impacts everything we do, and how well we do it for the rest of our lives.
